The Driftwood Trilogy 2025-2028

Falling Trees (2025)

The Driftwood Trilogy examines the intersections of class, race and gender from the most rural-remote northern regions of the island to the most densely populated southern region of the territory spanning the early 1800s to present day. The characters introduced in Building Houses are the relations/ancestors of the characters in Falling Trees and Wasting Paper. In this manner, the stand alone plays when performed together as a trifecta or classic three act will encompass the totality of the island’s relationship to settler-colonialism, confederation and globalization seen through the eyes of individuals of all invested backgrounds, from the aged Indigenous grandmother in Building Houses to her disenfranchised great-grandson in Falling Trees to her displaced great-great-great granddaughter in Wasting Paper.
