PCTC co-produced Megan Coles’ The Battery with the Resource Centre for the Arts Theatre in St. John’s during the spring of 2011. The highly successful first production had a sold out run and was directed by Emma Tibaldo. The Battery examines the often difficult and challenging loyalties that surround and inform community and physically and emotionally abusive relationships. The production of The Battery took place in a vacant bar in downtown St. John’s. The challenges were anticipated and became an exciting part of the ingenuity and resourcefulness of the production. A talk back was held on April 14th and all proceeds from pay-what-you-can matinee held the 16th were donated to The Naomi Centre, an emergency shelter and short term residence for young women.
